Health as a Philosophy: The Sugar-Free Decision
IMG20190730183750.jpg

It all began in France, in 2016, with my wife’s bold experiment. She decided to completely eliminate sugar from her diet, replacing it entirely with natural honey. The results were immediate: she became the only one in our family who stopped getting sick.

A year later, having seen the obvious benefit, I joined her decision. We eliminated sugar and everything that contained it from our diet. Explaining this to the children was difficult, requiring perfect consistency and absolute patience from us. Today, two of our children strictly avoid sugar and, consequently, never get sick. While the rest of our children consume sugar only occasionally—often resulting in minor illnesses, like a bout of COVID for one of our daughters—we hope they will fully adopt this path soon.

Thanks to this decision, we, the parents, have forgotten about sickness for 8 years now. It was then that we definitively understood that the greatest value is health.

Reboot in Utah: The Apiary Dream

We are Ukrainians, and we always missed our homeland, so in 2019 we returned to Ukraine, but were forced to leave again due to the war, moving to the USA in 2022.

Throughout all those years, we consistently continued our search for truly live, pure honey. It was not easy. We tried countless options, buying honey from stores, websites, and directly from beekeepers across various price ranges, and we learned to clearly distinguish a high-quality, unheated product. Unfortunately, too often we received honey that was heated to a temperature that caused it to lose most of its beneficial vitamins and healing properties.

I realized we needed more than just "honey"—we needed a genuine gift of nature, free from chemicals and thermal processing. I fell in love with the nature of Utah and saw its pristine natural spots, ideal for placing an apiary. It was here in Utah that I was overcome by an unbearable desire to create our own source of such purity.

God blessed me with wonderful friends with whom I constantly shared this dream of having my own apiary. Finally, in the spring of 2024, I found a surprise: one day, returning home, I saw two hives built by my friend! I bought two more hives and four bee colonies, and that is how my journey as a beekeeper began.

The Apiary's Heart: The Abajo Canyon

I fell in love with bees—with how small they are, yet how coordinated and productive they work. I realized I wanted to become a beekeeper. In the spring of 2025, when my apiary already numbered 15 colonies, a friend offered me the ideal location: an old apiary site in a natural canyon near the Abajo Mountains. When my wife and I arrived to clear away the old hives, we saw that the wood in them was still strong. I restored them, and by the end of the summer of 2025, we already had 28 colonies.

Work and Recharge: The Engineering of Nature

By profession, I am an engineer, and I love my job. But I feel that it is work. Yet, when I work with the bees—building hives, assembling frames, embedding foundation, and studying the experience of beekeepers around the world via YouTube—I relax and recharge. I simply don't get tired! The bee space, connecting with nature, and creating something truly valuable gives me an incredible surge of energy.

Philosophy of Purity and Family

Our philosophy of honey purity goes beyond simply sourcing from the wilderness. While the pristine Abajo Mountains and canyons offer an ideal environment, we actively partner with landowners who share our core principle: zero chemicals in crop cultivation. Thus, the conscious stewardship of their own land by these farmers allows us to collect pure, chemical-free honey from their fields.

We collaborate with these local farmers, moving our hives to their lands, as well as to the most remote mountain slopes. This ensures the highest quality and purity of the nectar, guaranteeing a consistently clean environment for our bees.

This is a true family business: my wife and children completely share my desire to be a beekeeper and help me in every way in organizing the entire workflow, from hive maintenance to final packaging.
